  2. BCC Workforce Training-"All About Careers"

    September 24, 9:15 AM - 12:00 PM

    Barton Community College’s Workforce Training and Economic Development department will host the “All About Careers!” event from 9:15 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, September 24 to showcase the college’s workforce training programs. Superintendents, principals, counselors, prospective students and parents are welcome to attend. Lunch will be served from 11:30 – noon during a Q-and-A session at the end of the event. There is no cost to attend. The event will highlight the Natural Gas, Computer Aided Drafting, Automotive, Agriculture, Early Childhood and Manufacturing Skills programs. There will be short information sessions with the coordinators of each program. There will also be tours of all the facilities for each program. Those wanting to attend will need to RSVP by visiting allaboutcareers.bartonccc.edu.     Admission is FREE, but a ticket is required and we ask that you bring a donation for the Food Bank. Tickets are available at the Great Bend Tribune and at the door. Door prizes all evening! The Great Bend Tribune's Women's Expo is an annual for women event for women to see what area businesses and organizations have to offer, make purchases and see what's new. Whether you are interested in fashion, health, fitness, education, housewares, remodeling, financial or technology, the Women's Expo is the place to be.

  15. Grief Support Group

    September 29, All Day @ Conference Room 103 of the Medical Building

    Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice (GBHH&H) will sponsor a Monday evening grief support group in Great Bend from May 5 through June 30. from Aug. 18 through Oct. 13. It will meet each Monday (except Labor Day) from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Conference Room 103 of the Medical Building at 3520 Lakin in Great Bend. Hospice Chaplain John Grummon and GBHH&H Social Worker Cathy Soeken will lead the group “Cathy and I will guide the participants, and help them provide support to one another,” Grummon said. “This group setting is a comforting place to share and learn new ways to approach grief.” All discussions are confidential. Anyone interested in attending the grief support group may contact Grummon or Soeken for further details by calling 620-792-8171.

  16. Barton County Commission Meeting

    September 29, 9:00 AM @ Room 106 at the Courthouse

    The Barton County Commission will meet in Room 106 at the Courthouse. These meetings are held each Monday morning at 9 a.m. (except holidays) and are open to the public.
