  2. Movie with a Message "Life is Beautiful"

    Heartland Center for Spirituality in Great Bend will show the movie "Life is Beautiful" in their continuing program "Movies with a Message" on Friday, March 27, 2015. The movie begins at 6:15 p.m. at the Dominican Sister Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway. Refreshments will be served. A free-will donation is requested. The final movie in the series is: Powder (April 24).

  4. Central Kansas Spring Expo

    March 28, All Day @ Expo Complex

    The Central Kansas Spring Expo will take place Saturday, March 28th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 29th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Expo Complex 2.5 miles West of Great Bend, Kansas.

  5. Kansas Advanced Hunter Education Class

    March 28, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

    This Kansas Advanced Hunter Education class will concentrate on the proper care of your firearm before and after the hunt. Participants are encouraged to bring their rifle and/or shotgun and corresponding ammunition to the class. Shotguns will be patterned in advance of Spring Turkey season. Rifles will be shot over a chronograph and information entered into a ballistics program. Proper cleaning procedures as well as a discussion of ballistics will also be covered. Students will go home with their shotgun pattern board and/or their ballistic sheets showing the trajectory of their individual firearm. Class will be taught by Tim Boxberger, Kansas Hunter Education Instructor. This class is for anyone ages 11 and older with a Hunter Education Card. Participants must present their Hunter Education Card at the beginning of the class. The class will be held on Saturday, March 28th, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Great Bend Police Training Facility (995 K Ave.). Students must preregister.

  6. Central Kansas Spring Expo

    March 29, All Day @ Expo Complex

    The Central Kansas Spring Expo will take place Saturday, March 28th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 29th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Expo Complex 2.5 miles West of Great Bend, Kansas.

  7. Barton County Commission Meeting

    March 30, 9:00 AM @ Room 106 at the Courthouse

    The Barton County Commission will meet in Room 106 at the Courthouse. These meetings are held each Monday morning at 9 a.m. (except holidays) and are open to the public.

  8. GBHS Boys Golf Invitational

    March 30, 3:00 PM

    Support the GBHS Boys Golf team at their home invitational at the Stone Ridge Golf Course at starting at 3:00 PM.

  9. Easter Egg Party

    The GBRC has fun activities planned at this Easter Party decorating party. Children will decorate Easter eggs. This party will take place on March 31st starting at 3:30 PM

  10. Central Kansas Community Choir Concert "God & Country"

    March 31, 7:30 PM

    The Central Kansas Community Choir, which is sponsored by Barton Community College will hold its 2015 concert, “God and Country," on Tuesday, March 31st at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium at Barton Community College. A non-denominational mixed chorus directed by Barton Barton’s Director of Chorale Activities Vern Fryberger, the choir is open to all central Kansas residents who enjoy singing; high school age and above. This year, the choir’s repertoire will include several sacred selections including “Gloria” by Randol Bass, “De Profundis” by Russell Robinson, and “Festival Gloria” by Craig Courtney. Patriotic selections include “Hymn to the Fallen” by John Williams and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” by Wilhousky. Each of these selections will be accompanied by the Barton Community Orchestra under the direction of Steve Lueth. This is the seventh season for the Central Kansas Community Choir, which formed in 2003 and performs a major concert every other year in the spring.
