Boards & Commissions


The City of Great Bend has a number of Advisory Boards and Commissions. These Boards and Commissions serve in various capacities to recommend action or strategies to the City Council. Members of the Boards and Committees are appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. The standing Boards and Committees in the City include the following:

  • Airport Advisory Committee
  • Aldrich Boy Scout Committee
  • Board of Construction, Trades, Examiners, and Appeals
  • Building Board of Examiners and Appeals
  • Cemetery Board
  • City Tree Board
  • Commission on Aging
  • Community Police Advisory Board
  • Convention and Tourism
  • Housing Authority
  • Humane Society
  • Library Board
  • Planning Commission
  • Public Utilities Relations Committee
  • Recreation Commission (Two appointees from City)
  • Zoning Board of Examiners and Appeals

Other boards and committees are assigned on an as-needed basis.
