    The Great Bend Tribune has already started reserving booth space for this year’s Women’s Expo. The deadline to reserve your spot is August 23rd. Booths are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. This event has really blossomed over the past 20 years and it’s a great opportunity to connect with current customers as well as develop new customer relationships. Business and organizations have the opportunity to show off their products and services to expo attendees, many who would not normally walk through their doors. Admission is free to attendees and the event draws a large crowd of women wanting to engage and explore what our community has to offer. Winners for door prizes are drawn throughout the event and vendors are encouraged to offer sample, demonstrations and product sales.

Make plans to join us for the Chamber's 14th Annual Gary Gore Golf Tournament will be held Friday, September 27th at Stoneridge Country Club with a 1 pm shotgun start. 11:30 am Registration Opens 1:00 pm Shotgun Start 6:00 pm Awards & Patio Party Dinner Members and guests are encouraged to participate in this fun-filled event. The tournament is a way to link business with pleasure and provides an opportunity for participants to network with other business professionals in a casual and relaxed environment. The tournament memorializes former Chamber President and CEO Gary Gore, who died in a watercraft accident at Wilson Lake in 2005. The cost to enter the tournament is $100 per player or $400 per team.     Two local lab fairs provided by The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus have been combined into one, but the services and affordable prices remain the same. The monthly fair is available at the Great Bend Campus. The health system’s St. Rose Medical Pavilion no longer hosts a lab fair. “We offer a comprehensive list of lab services at a greatly reduced cost,” said Raylette Schlochtermeier, lab supervisor. “This is not a for-profit service. We offer it as a convenience to the public.” The monthly lab fairs are scheduled from 6-9 a.m. one Saturday each month. Dates for the rest of the year are Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 23 and Dec. 28. No appointment is necessary.
