Water and Sewer Information

News stuff (9)

The City of Great Bend provides water and sewer utilities to residents of Great Bend. The money collected from these services is used to pay for the operations of the water and sewer departments, as well as pay for any upgrades to the utility systems that is required by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). These funds should be self-sustaining, therefore no property taxes are levied or transferred to these funds. In 2020, the Governing Body approved Ordinance Number 4360, user fees for the city water system, and Ordinance Number 4361, user fees for the city sewer system. In each Ordinance, the fees will increase annually on October 1 by 3% and 3.5% respectively.
