Water meters will be read on a monthly basis in a pre-set cycle. The Utility Department may render a bill based on estimated usage that will clearly disclose on the bill that it is based on an estimated usage under the following circumstances:
Extreme weather conditions, emergencies, work stoppages, or other circumstances beyond the City’s control
When the Utility Department is unable to reasonably obtain access to the customer’s premises for the purpose of reading the meter
The Utility Department will clearly disclose on the bill that it is based on estimated usage
If the water usage amount on your billing seems high check immediately for leaks in your system, such as:
Increased number of occupants
Improper cycling of your water softener
