The Great Bend Fire Department Fire Inspections division issues permits for firework stands within the City of Great Bend. All firework vendors must complete an application for each stand location. As part of the application process the Fire Inspector will look at the set up and location of the stand to ensure it meets ordinance requirements. Once fireworks stands are inspected and permit is issued sale of fireworks is allowed from June 27th to July 4th of each year between the hours of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on said dates. All fireworks stands shall be removed from the site within three days of the closing of the stand for business.
Fireworks vendors looking to have a stand and sell fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Barton County first need to contact the Barton County Environmental Management Division about obtaining a permit.
