Information Technology (IT)
The City of Great Bend IT (Information Technology) Department is responsible for managing and maintaining the technological infrastructure of the City organization. This includes a variety of tasks and functions, such as:
- Network Infrastructure: Managing and maintaining the organization's computer networks, including hardware (routers, switches, etc.) and software (network operating systems, firewalls, etc.).
- Systems Administration: Overseeing the organization's servers and ensuring their proper functioning. This may involve tasks such as installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware and software.
- User Support: Providing technical support to end-users within the organization. This can include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with software installations, and addressing other IT-related concerns.
- Cybersecurity: Implementing measures to protect the organization's digital assets from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cybersecurity threats.
- Data Management: Managing the storage, backup, and retrieval of data. This may involve implementing data storage solutions, backup systems, and data recovery plans.
- Software Development and Integration: Developing and maintaining custom software applications or integrating third-party software solutions to meet the organization's specific needs.
- IT Planning and Strategy: Collaborating with other departments to align IT strategies with overall organizational goals. Planning for future technology needs and upgrades.
